While living in the south, I grew quite accustomed to the warm weather- but let me tell you, there is nothing like a Chicago summer. Moving back home has made me happier than I could have ever imagined, and the timing could not be more perfect! From the rooftop restaurants, countless tourist attractions, street festivals and the beautiful beaches, Chicago is THE place to be during the summer!
Dress: Ross (Extremely similar here, also love this one) | Shoes: BCBG (Similar here, here, & here) | Clutch: Michael Kors (Another great option here) | Earrings: BaubleBar (Similar here, here, & here)
One of the greatest parts about summer in Chicago is that it gives me the perfect opportunity to wear dresses more frequently. My daily uniform consists of jeans and a cute top, so the warm weather definitely forces me to get out of my comfort zone! If you read my post from last week then you’ll know all about my newfound love for Ross! As I said, this store is definitely a hit or miss, but I have found some really nice dresses for great prices. A typical Chicago summer is hot- sometimes unbearably hot, so most days I’m just looking for easy dresses that I can throw on and get out the door.
I have a feeling that we are about to have a hot (and I mean HOT) summer in Chicago, so this dress is perfect for the season! The color is stunning and this dress pairs so easily with a pair of lace up heels and a clutch! This dress will be perfect for dinner dates, a weekend brunch, or you could dress it down with a pair of slides for a casual day out. I think I just might have found the perfect dress to withstand a hot Chicago summer! With there being so much activity in Chicago during the summer months, it will give me a chance to wear this dress and many others that I’ve gotten over these last few weeks.
There are so many great summer festivals, concerts, restaurants, and hotspots that I still have not been to, so I will be making it my mission to get out as much as I can! No person in the Chicagoland area can disagree when I say that summertime Chi is where it’s at! Most of us are able to overlook the gruesome, God-awful winters so that we can have these few months of warm weather. I can tell you that I’m looking forward to eating new food, city stay-cations, trips to the beach, the Kendrick Lamar concert, and lots and lots of Cubs games. It also doesn’t hurt that I have a summer birthday! Are any of you from the Chicagoland area or planning to spend part of the summertime in Chicago? What are you most looking forward to doing this summer?
